SXSW week in Austin...

Check out my Shows link for info on where I'll be SXSW week in and about Austin - so far there is the wonderful #SXStilesSwitch show on Friday 3/17 at 5PM at Stiles Switch BBQ, and then a set on Thursday 3/16 7PM at Joanna Howerton and Michael Cross's new Songwriter Night at Stinson's Unversity Park. Details in the Shows listings. I'll also be adding a couple shows the weekend of Sat/Sunday 3/11-12; stay tuned and hope to see you out there!

Netherlands airplay

It's  sweet when a radio DJ gives you a heads up about playing your music on their program. It's even niftier when the DJ is a) Dutch and b)  just about to start his show in CST! This happened a couple days ago when Berrie Koetsier of RTV IJsselmond 104.1FM played "Cleveland Ohio" on his Songriver program.
Click for an online link to the archived Songriver program.  My song is on second to last, just before the wonderful Ryan Bingham.

On Pandora Soon!

I just heard from Pandora that Step By Step has been approved, and will be in their programming shortly!

This is great for getting the music out to more people. I'll keep y'all updated on when it goes live.

Airplay in Europe! Fantastique! Fenomenaal!

Well here's some welcome news - Step By Step is getting airplay from a few stations in France and the Netherlands! I am so grateful to these stations for playing my music. I love that different songs are being played on each program - it's wonderful to know these DJs take the time to listen to the album, and that one particular song spoke to each one of them.

Buckets of Texas-sized thanks go out to:

Mike Penard, American Roots Music, ISA Radio, Lhuis, France (he wrote me the most wonderful note! Merci, Mike! See you at SXSW!)
Marten van der Laan,Country Stew/Radio Compagnie, Sappemeer, The Netherlands
Thomas Kaldijk,Roots Radioprogram Blueprint, RTV1, The Netherlands
Berrie Koetsier  RTV IJsselmond 104.1 FM Kampen, The Netherlands

If you're feeling adventurous and bilingual, check out their online links!
Oh, and since I don't have any real photos to share of these folks or their towns, I'll just share some representative photos of the countries. Damn, that cheese looks good!

"Real Love" - Roots Music Report Top 10 Americana Country Song!

I was thrilled to see that "Real Love" has debuted on Roots Music Report's Americana Country Song Chart as #10! The entire album, Step by Step debuted at #33!
Thanks to all who played my music and called radio stations to say they liked it.

This radio campaign had modest goals, and I think we are reaching them so far. Is there an independent or public radio station in your area that you think would play Step By Step? Then let them know, or send me a message.

If you like the album and are reading this, feel free to send me a message any time! Putting out an album that you believe in feels great, but it feels even better to get feedback from people about the music. And please share with your friends.

Thanks for listening!

-Claudia

Catching up! Radio play, sittin' in with Nashville greats, awards, recognition, etc...

New Year's Resolution (made in February) - Regular blog updates! I'll be posting news, videos, gigs, etc. 1-2 times a week. Hold me to it!

The last few months have been busy, hard, productive, frustrating but rewarding, educational, and most recently, even fun. Read on...

RADIO PROMOTION - My album Step By Step has gone out to over 200 radio stations in the US and Europe as part of an eight week promo. In its first two weeks, the album is getting some nice station adds and play, including by Americana charted stations! This is incredibly gratifying, and I sincerely thank every single station and DJ who plays a track. Writing a song is rewarding, playing it for others is fun, as is recording and making it come to full life with fellow musicians, but knowing that someone, somewhere that you'll never meet has listened to and enjoyed that song is an amazing feeling. If you hear a song on your station, let me know! And if there is a station that you think should play my music, let them - and me - know! Thanks to Peter Hay at Twin Vision for his hard work on my behalf. I'll be posting more news as this promo develops.

SITTIN' IN - Made my way down to the Shade Tree Saloon & Grill in Spring Branch, TX this past Wednesday night to play in songwriter David Lee's new Lamplighter Songwriter's Night. David Lee has had numerous #1 hits for country artists like Lady Antebellum and Faith Hill & Tim McGraw, and is an incredibly generous and talented human. We swapped songs for two hours, and I plan to make it back there as often as I can. It's a real listening space he's created, and the audience was wonderful! David's songs are inspiring, as is the prospect of writing a new one to bring back and play. Songwriters supporting each other is a beautiful thing!

- Was chosen Indie Bible's Pop Score Pick for Week 4, 2017 for the song "Real Love!

ETC...
I've written a few new tunes and have a nice little webcam/mic setup, so will be adding some videos to this site, of both new songs and selections from Step By Step.

Since the CD Release in September, my life has been busy with some non-music events as well, so gigs had to take a back seat for a while. I've popped up here and there near my Austin area home, but will be booking some new gigs and will be posting info soon. I love playing live and hope to see you out there!

Thanks so much for your interest and support - feel free to write or click on my social media links on the main page to see more - I'm on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter! <3

CD Release Show!

Well we all had a whale of a time last night at Strange Brew for my CD Release show - thank you to everyone who came out to support live music, who bought CDs and who just made it a really special evening! And thanks as well to everyone who tuned in via Concertwindow.com to see/hear the webcast - I am so glad I was able to share this very special show with my friends all over the country. Those of you who tipped and will be receiving rewards - huge thanks! I will be sending you emails shortly for mailing addresses. All of the love and support truly means a lot. I had the World's Best Band last night: my producer Gordy Quist, Scott Davis, Trevor Nealon, Richard Millsap and Morgan Thompson and my daughter Emma Gibson. They made my songs sound truly special. I'm feeling very lucky today!

P.S. My album Step By Step is now live on CDBaby.com and iTunes - click on the links to go there! There are previews of each track on those sites.
