Biography

Austin singer-songwriter Claudia Gibson’s musical style runs the gamut - with folk at its core, but also including elements of rock, classical, bluegrass, Celtic and soul - creating a sound that is solely her own. UK music reviewer Alan Cackett called Claudia’s 2024 album, The Fields of Chazy   “a travelogue through time and the vast expanse of America, a heady mixture that conjures the ghosts of John Steinbeck and Townes Van Zandt, and yet remains uniquely personal."

Recipient of a prestigious 2026 Austin Live Music Fund grant, Claudia is recording an album of new songs in the summer of 2026 with producer Gordy Quist, to be released in early 2027.

Claudia’s songwriting skills have brought her recognition as a Kerrville New Folk finalist, invites to songwriting festivals and competitions, and 1st place in the Woody Guthrie Songwriting Contest
